MECHANICAL ROOM DIVIDER
Part room divider, part toy; this screen reveals a playful hidden narrative when its mechanism is activated. Behind the winter tree silhouettes lies a playful animation of flying birds, leaping rabbits and running cats.

Here's a quick demo of the animation on the left panel:

VESSEL TABLE

I designed and made this coffee table as part of a project exploring CAD/CAM machine processes. It's made out of 26 unique plywood cross section 'slices', with a touch of walnut veneer to frame the internal chaos.

Inspired by slide photos of blood vessels and tissue samples, it subtly highlights the way that the coffee table is often the central object of social interaction in our homes.
FLYING MAGAZINE DISPLAY
Inspired by my own personal taxidermy collection, I designed this magazine display as a novel way of displaying individual magazine issues, giving them a unique sense of life.

HAIR CHAIR
The Hair Chair is a material investigation into the creepy connotations associated with human hair, when removed from the body. Human hair extensions are a multi-million pound industry in the UK, yet when they are applied in any other context they evoke feelings of disgust and morbidity.

SUNBURST BUREAU
An original handmade bureau heavily influenced by the art deco design movement. Designed and made as part of a craft project to learn traditional cabinet making skills, this bureau was also partly an experiment in combining veneer and liquid resin for decorative effect.
